Sorry for the length but I had much to tell hehe... feel free to skip some bits...

First I said I would be back around the 10th… that was a lie… Then I changed it to the 20th or something… that turned out to be a lie too… Ah well, I’m sorry, but I’ve been purposely avoiding dA these last weeks. My life has been a busy mess and not much of a summer vacation like in the good ol’ days.

First there was Egypt: which was wonderful! We spend most of the time at the beach/in the water because of the immense heat and then we had a couple of days in Cairo too, which is one craaaaaazy city haha! I thought Bangkok had some crazy traffic (driving on the sidewalk and stuff) but this was just plain wacko! There are probably only three traffic lights in all of Cairo and they’re all blinking yellow. Crossing a road was therefore quite an achievement and most of the time you just had to step out and hope that the car would stop for you… and that the driver didn’t hate tourists.
People were really nice and open (even though it was a bit hard as a woman to walk around without going insane from all the men commenting/whistling/pointing… geez!). I was a bit scared in the beginning to admit that I was Danish (and I’m mad at myself for being scared… stupid!) but there was only one person in two weeks who commented that he didn’t like some Danish people (apparently not including me haha) because of the cartoons.
And as a last notice: I thought the Sphinx was bigger… heh

Then there was work: as I predicted work is taking up most of my time (money, money, money) and I’m usually too tired to be creative when I come home (as mentioned; selling bread isn’t that inspiring). Ah well, it’s good money after I turned eighteen (double up actually) and there’s almost nothing to do except eating ice and throwing cakes hehe…
And I’m going to start my driving lessons in September (methinks) mwahahaha! I think a lot of people ought to hide under their desks right now… I’m a tiiiiny bit scared too.
And I finally got my VISA card – another reason to be scared, and a good reason to work a lot this summer (then, hopefully, I won’t have time to spend all my money).
And one last thing taking up space in my calendar is my hospital appointment. Nope, nothing serious, I’ve just decided to be a blood donor (and I feel really good about that decision). Yep I’m preaching in my journal entry, and I’m allowed to do it because it’s mine ;)

Finally I’ll mention that we succeeded in preventing our cellar from flooding this year until we (and in this case the ‘we’ defines me) forgot to turn off the water in our garden hose resulting in massive flooding of the roses along the house… and then the house too… … … woops?
It’s kind of hard to apologize when you’re returning from work to find your brother in the cellar along with his friend trying to sweep up the water everywhere and you have to catch a train and therefore is like: “oh… woops, sorry! But I’ve got to hurry… have fun! Bye!”
At least the roses got watered…

And as a last notice: my scanner isn’t working at the moment resulting in piles of half finished drawings cluttering up my desk/floor/bed/house. I’ll get it fixed really soon and then I can finally get some coloring going on…

To the Danes: [link] …more preaching, but seriously, it’s easy and takes about two seconds!

with nice I assume you mean drivers who follow the rules of traffic... because the Italians are usually much more considerate when they drive, much more so than the danes at least. That's how I've experienced it anyways =P

Are you taking driving lessons now? I'm starting thursday - it's impossible to find a driving school anywhere near Copenhagen where there's room for another pupil so I had to wait some months :(

Heeeey! Haven't started taking lessons, yet. I recently started working out and between my training and work, and relaxing/being with friends once in a while, I haven't been able to find the time for it.

How are you doing with your lessons? Is it difficult? :)
